You need to modify your kernel if you want to use the Bad Block Relocation
functionality.  It requires a patch to Device Mapper in the kernel to add
the Bad Block Relocation "target".

You may also need to patch your kernel if you choose to have EVMS manage
only a subset of your disks.  See
http://evms.sourceforge.net/install/kernel.html for more details on this
and on building Bad Block Relocation into your kernel.

Yes, but see the documentation on using EVMS to manage only a subset of
