Hi Folks,

I have applied RAID6 patch. i.e. evms-2[1].5.3-raid6.patch to EVMS - 2.5.3
successfully for doing RAID6 operations using EVMS. But I am facing some
issues with testing of this patch.

I followed following steps for testing RAID6 functionality:

1) Applied RAID6 patch to EVMS - 2.5.3.

2) After that I have created RAID by using following EVMS command:

EVMS: c:r, MDRaid5RegMgr={chunksize=32, algorithm="Left Asymmetric"},
sda1, sda2, sda3,sda5

3) Now I want to check the RAID6 functionality, for that I have added
two spare disks to RAID before making 2 disks faulty by using following
command:

EVMS: task:addspare, md/md0, sda6

EVMS: task:addspare, md/md0, sda7

Now spare gets added successfully to my RAID.

4) Now I want to make two disks faulty so that I can check whether the
RAID will be recoverable after failure of two disks, when I mark first disk
say "sda1" faulty it will be successfully mark that disk as faulty but when
I try to mark second disk say "sda3" as faulty EVMS gives me error as RAID
is corrupt.

Please suggest, How I should test all the functionalities of RAID6
(supported by RAID5 also) through EVMS after applying RAID6 patch to
EVMS-2.5.3,

Thanks & Regards,

Yogesh
