Unable to shrink Raid-5 Array

Hello all,

I'm trying to shrink a raid5 array, but evms won't let me.
There is enough free space on the array to allow it, but I don't get
the option. After digging around a bit I noticed that the filesystem
size was reported wrong, it should have said 2.5TB but it reported
only around 450GB (filesystem was fine though, the volume could be
mounted and tune2fs reported the correct values.)

I then tried to resize2fs the filesystem to < 2TB, and now it is
reported correctly in the GUI. Still no option to shrink though.

I then found md_resize_info attached to a post on this mailing list and ran it:

./md_resize_info -r /dev/evms/.nodes/hda3 --use_old_format
Found MD superblock version 0.90 on /dev/evms/.nodes/hda3.
__evms_validate_old_resize_info: Invalid EVMS MD signature.
(/dev/evms/.nodes/hda3) does not have MD resize information.
Operation failed.

So that seems to be the culprit. I've tried the following things:

- convert the volume back to compatibility volume and to evms volume
again, didn't work
- removed hda3 from the array and re-added it via mdadm, no dice either

I'm guessing I can fix it with the md_resize_info tool but I don't know how.

System: 2.6.17-10 x86, evms 2.5.5
