Need to remove a drive from a drivelink

Hi all.

I have 3 drives linked into on volume.  One of those drives has developed a 
bad sector or two.  I know the drive is failing, but for now, all I want to 
do is remove it from the link, reformat it, and put it back in.  This is a 
bandage solution.

I've freed up enough space on the volume to perform this operation.  I've 
unmounted the filesystem.  How do I go about removing the drive from the 
link?
