GUI Login problem

Hi, 
 I worked intensively with commercial clustering solutions, like Veritas,=

and at present I would like to try a linux - based cluster.


After installing the following set of rpms on one of my linux boxes (SuSE=

8.0)

I tried to start the GUI /usr/bin/fstask, for a first time cluster setup.=

The mask asks me for server name (local hostname, "mypc") and the usernam=
e
(root) ... but after the OK button it complains about an unsuccessful log=
in,
without asking me for a password. On the 
log file I set up editing /var/lib/sysadm/sysadm.conf I read

INFO mypc.local sysadmd[1167]: sysadmd started.
ERROR mypc.local authScheme/unix[1167]: sysadmd login request for root fa=
iled.
INFO mypc.local conn[1167]: Lost connection.

FailSafe services are started automatically at boot time, inetd is runnin=
g
and the system is listening on port tcpmux


I would appreciate every help about this ... I would like to start as soo=
n
as possible with the cluster configuration!
