Hi, recently, I replaced my CRT with a 18,1" LCD running at 1280x1024@60. X works fine now via DVI on my Debian testing box running 2.4.20, X 4.2.x and the latest beta-drivers. The one and only woe is the textmode: In case the LCD is connected via a VGA cable, matroxfb as well as vesafb work fine in 1280x1024@60 mode. Switching between X and textmode works as well. When using the DVI cable, matroxfb remains black on bootup and never comes up. Vesafb works fine on bootup, but when switching back from X, the LCD complains about the frequency being too high. So the only setting which works is vga=normal or extendend in lilo.conf or 80x60, which looks quite ugly on such a large monitor. Any hints how to get the framebuffer working in textmode?
