I have been doing xfree86 work for the glint driver, altough mostly for the pm3 chip, so i may be able to arrange something there. > I have a copy of some docs from TI (before 3DLabs sued them > into submission), but I lack the time to learn both permedia2 > programming and the frame buffer system. I think the best idea is to print yourself a copy of pm2fb.c and pm2fb.h, and then take another already adapted driver as model. tridentfb and tdfxfb are maybe good examples. I had some time the intention of writing a new API howto and to port pm3fb, but i bought an AGP 8x motherboard and my old AGP2x pm3 graphic card doesn't work with it anymore :((( > Is there a API syntactic and semantic change summary somewhere? > Which currently functional driver is the simplest to use as an > example? Those could help with a simple porting... I think it would be best to restart from an already converted driver. there is much less stuff that need to be done in the new API, and i think it is easier to restart from scratch, using the old driver as guideline.
