Even LCDs have frequencies. The signaling is slightly different, but you
still have a H&V sync signals, among other things. So yeah, that's
probably it.

It's a Hyundai Q17, capable of 1280x1024@75. But the docs say that 60Hz
is recommended so maybe that's what it says to the Radeon board over the
I2C bus.

After all, it's a TFT display, maybe it doesn't really care about the
frequency?
