I have a Radeon 7500 QW (PCI ID 5157) which works just fine on both DVI
and VGA, though it was my experience that it liked a 61 Hz refresh rate
better for 1280x1024 on VGA. You might try booting with
'video=radeonfb:1280x1024@61' or similar.

My card is drunk and reports the DFP size as 1024x768, but the monitor
has a correct EDID block and the new I2C/DDC code initializes it just
fine on its own in 2.6.
