Thanks for the info, Tony.  Unfortunately this does not yet solve the 
issue.  The good news is that the module now gives me an error on modprobe. 
 This is what I get:

ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:05.0[A] -> GSI 17 (level, low) -> IRQ 22
radeonfb (0000:01:05.0): cannot map FB
radeonfb: probe of 0000:01:05.0 failed with error -5

If I rmmod and try again, the error repeats, excluding the first line 
above.

I've tried this both on my 2.6.21 kernel I was using before as well as a 
newly compiled 2.6.22-2 kernel, both after applying the patch specified.  
Same error.  So... any ideas?

Attached are update-to-date config files, dmesg, ls /sys/bus/pci/..., etc., 
in case they're needed.  Thanks again.
