This has to be a bug if your atyfb can't even show the console colors
properly. I'll CC some people.

Can you post your dmesg and fbset -i?

If you're using a recent kernel, try tinkering with

/sys/module/vt/parameters/default_blu|default_grn|default_red

The above will show you the colors of the console palette, which you can
also customize anytime.
