I downloaded the patch set from acl.bestbits.at for coreutils 5.2.1. I unpacked the files into the same directory as my coreutils 5.2.1 directory. If I just try to run the patches in the order they are packed in the tarball, I get lots of failures. I've read in a couple of places that there is a particular order that these patches need to be applied, but it's not documented anywhere. I figured that the ones I need immediately are coreutils-5.2.1.patch, the acl patch, and the acl+posix patch. However, when I apply these three patches, I get a compilation failure on my system (slackware 10.1 with gcc 3.3.5 and glibc 2.3.5 and 2.6.11.7 kernel). The failure mentions undefined references to acl_* functions defined in the acl libraries that I've installed (2.2.28 is the latest to my knowledge).
