fedora 2 kernel patch

I am using fedora core 2 and kernel kernel-2.6.6-1.435.2.3 when i try use setfacl like below, [root@server root]# setfacl -m u:sigit:rwx /root setfacl: /root: Operation not supported should i patch the kernel?
