About: AntiDialer is a QT-based broadband dialer for Sify Broadband users
in India. It has features comparable to the Sify Windows dialer, such as
password saving and autologin. Now Sify users no longer have to depend
upon the old default dialer provided by Sify.
Changes: From now on, this software will be released in three forms:
source tarball, Deb package, and RPM package. The code was completely
rewritten to remove the Qt dependant elements from the core. A primary
console based interface was added. A plugin interface was created to allow
feature implementation in the form of separate plugin libraries. A GUI
plugin based on Qt is included. The heartbeat feature was removed, since
it is useless unless you want a tray icon alive all the time.

About: FLoP is designed to gather alerts with payload from distributed
snort sensors on a central server and to store them in a database
(PostgreSQL and MySQL are supported). On the sensor, the output is written
to a process called sockserv. This process is threaded; one thread receives
and buffers the alert packets, and the other thread forwards them to a
central server. The output is decoupled from snort, which can proceed in
sniffing instead of waiting for the output plugins. At the central server,
a process called servsock gathers all alerts from the remote sensors and
feeds them to the database. A short description of alerts with high
priority together with the database ID can be sent via email to a list of
recipients.
Changes: Several checks were added, the alert data from Snort got a tag,
and a restart of Snort is now checked. getpacket now has base 64 support.
The statistics are now generated via the control thread so some signals
are no longer necessary. The exit handler was rewritten and a cache for
signatures was added. This cache can accelerate the insert rate by up to a
factor of two and is implemented as a red black tree. During runtime, the
only SELECT statement is for the signature ID, and all other operations
are INSERT statements. The idea is to cache all signatures that caused an
alert.

and share digital photos. It automatically locates and remembers all

features as the Windows version, and is based on a modified version of
Wine.
Changes: This is the first release of Picasa for Linux, in English only.

About: Plait (pronounced "play") is a command-line jukebox and music
player front end. It understands brief, easy to type queries that pick a
single song, mix queries that combine works from multiple artists, and
stream queries that find Shoutcast radio streams. A variety of filters are
available to pick just the music you want to hear. In order to actually
play the music it finds, Plait automatically hands off a playlist to one
of the supported music players, or creates a playlist that you can
manually load.
Changes: This release contains minor feature enhancements and bugfixes.
Error handling is now more robust when the music directory is offline. In
this situation, you can still build playlists and play radio streams
without receiving any error messages. Interactive mode can now handle
filenames containing certain regular expression special characters. A new
option, '--platform,' allows you to override the default platform for the
scope of a single 'plait' command.

About: Rats! is a parser generator for C-like languages (though currently
it only generates parsers in Java). It has been designed so that grammars
are concise and easily extensible. To this end, grammars are organized
into modules that can be easily changed by adding, removing, or modifying
alternatives in individual productions and composed with each other
through module parameters. Furthermore, it relies on ordered choices to
avoid ambiguities, supports syntactic predicates for unlimited lookahead,
and integrates lexing with parsing. Finally, it has extensive support for
automatically generating abstract syntax trees, thus greatly reducing the
need for explicit semantic actions.
Changes: This release improves the performance of Rats!-generated parsers
by enabling more optimizations. It improves the included C and Java
grammars by generating better-structured ASTs. It includes significant
improvements to the included framework for building language tools, with a
particular focus on facilitating semantic analysis. It provides the basis
for the experimental results reported in the PLDI paper "Better
Extensibility through Modular Syntax".

About: Rob's Iconbox is an application based on Enlightenment's icon box
for EWMH compliant window managers. It detects when a window is being
iconified, takes a screenshot, and puts an icon with that screenshot
inside itself. It features auto-hiding, where the icon box hides itself
when the mouse moves away.
Changes: The hashtable dictionary implementation was removed. An unsorted
array implementation is used instead for simplicity. XML configuration

About: Seed7 is a general purpose programming language. It is a higher
level language compared to Ada, C++, and Java. In Seed7, new statements
and operators can be declared easily. Functions with type results and type
parameters are more elegant than a template or generics concept. Object
orientation is used when it brings advantages and not in places when other
solutions are more obvious. Although Seed7 contains several concepts of
other programming languages, it is generally not considered as a direct
descendant of any other programming language.
Changes: The bas (basic interpreter) example program was improved to
support exit statements. A tiny bug in the panic example program was
fixed. The hi interpreter was improved to write a stack trace when an
exception is not caught.

About: The Shadow password file utilities package includes the programs
necessary to convert traditional V7 UNIX password files to the SVR4 shadow
password format, and additional tools to maintain password and group files
(that work with both shadow and non-shadow passwords).
Changes: A better fix was made for the old CERT VU#312962 bug in userdel.
userdel now uses login.defs::MAIL_DIR instead of a hardcoded value of
/var/mail. userdel was rewritten to use getopt_log(), and nscd is properly
notified to flush its cache. passwd and login now use the system's
getpass() function instead libshadow_getpass(). pgck and grpck produce a
warning when the members of a group differ in /etc/groups and
/etc/gshadow. In login, the login timeout is cancelled after
authentication. chgpasswd was fixed to build correctly with
--disable-shadowgrp. Many updates and cleanups were done in the man pages.

About: Suite-C Web is a collection of modules for Drupal that allow a
church to manage itself and communicate with its memebers. It currently
consists of a PrayerRequests module, which lets Web site visitors submit
prayer requests and later mark requests as "answered" (or no longer
relevant), which filters the request from the list of current prayer
requests. Prayer requests can be marked as for the pastor's eyes only, for
private requests. It also contains a module for making announcements about
upcoming events.
Changes: The method by which completed announcements and prayer requests
are presented to the user has been cleaned up. The announcement and
PrayerRequest modules are now ready for general consumption.

About: Sunifdef is a command line tool for simplifying the preprocessor
conditionals in C/C++ source code (#if and related directives) based on
the the user's chosen interpretation of the preprocessor symbols. It is a
more powerful successor to the FreeBSD 'unifdef' tool. Sunifdef is most
useful to developers of constantly evolving products with large code
bases, where preprocessor conditionals are used to configure the feature
sets, APIs or implementations of different releases. In these
environments, the code base steadily accumulates #ifdef-pollution as
transient configuration options become obselete. Sunifdef can largely
automate the recurrent task of purging redundant #if-logic from the code.
Changes: This is a spit-and-polish point release to qualify the package
for Feodora Extras inclusion. There are no fixes or features for sunifdef,
but it now builds clean with -Wall. Superfluous content has been removed
from the package. The test driver, test_sunifdef, now takes evasive action
for some pitfalls encountered in Wine and Cygwin emulator environments.

About: smf-zombie is a Sendmail filter designed to reject spam and viruses
from zombie PCs. This filter blocks up to 90% of the mail sent by
spam/virus engines, checks the sender's IP address with a reliable RBL
(cbl.abuseat.org), safely rejects "alien" bounces without violating any
RFC, rejects messages for undisclosed recipients, and rejects harmful
attachments to prevent a virus from spreading. This filter aims to be
lightweight, reliable, and simple.
Changes: A workaround for the Sendmail socket unsafe error on some
platforms was implemented. A bug with the greeting pause code under
FreeBSD was fixed. Configuration file, default user, and working directory
were changed. The format of log records was changed. Some samples of
start-up scripts were added. New TODO tasks were added. Cosmetic
enhancements were made.
