About: The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture is composed of several parts.
The first is a fully modularized sound driver which supports module

timer components of audio hardware. It also includes a fully-featured
kernel-level sequencer, a full compatibility layer for OSS/Free

About: amavisd-new is a high-performance and reliable interface between
MTAs and one or more content checkers, including virus scanners, and/or
the Mail::SpamAssassin Perl module. It talks to an MTA via (E)SMTP or
LMTP, or by using helper programs. No timing gaps exist in the design,
which could cause a mail loss. It is normally positioned at or near a
central mailer, not necessarily where the user's mailboxes and final
delivery takes place.
Changes: "Pen pals soft-whitelisting" was introduced, which lowers the
spam score of received replies to messages previously sent by a local user
to this address, based on information stored in the SQL logging database.
Command line options were added to override certain configuration
settings. The documentation on SQL usage was updated, most notably on the
use of data type TIMESTAMP. A decoder interface routine for zoo archives
can now use the unzoo(1) or zoo(1) utilities. A stricter regular
expression is used in amavisd.conf for matching CLSID (Class ID
extension). SMTP status code 550 was changed to 554 when rejecting mail
contents.

About: arp-scan sends ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) queries to the
specified targets, and displays any responses that are received. It allows
any part of the outgoing ARP packets to be changed, allowing the behavior
of targets to non-standard ARP packets to be examined. The IP address and
hardware address of received packets are displayed, together with the
vendor details. These details are obtained from the IEEE OUI and IAB
listings, plus a few manual entries. It includes arp-fingerprint, which
allows a system to be fingerprinted based on how it responds to
non-standard ARP packets.

About: Autojar helps create jar files of minimal size from different
inputs (classes, external archives, etc.). It starts from one or more
given classes (e.g., an applet), recursively searches the bytecode for
references to other classes, extracts these classes from the input
archives, and copies them to the output. The resulting archive will only
contain the classes that are really needed, so the size and loading time
of applets can be kept low, and applications can be made independent of
installed libraries. In a similar way, Autojar can search directories and
archives for other resources like image files, extract them, and copy them
to the output.
Changes: Minor bugfixes were made. The -X option was added to exclude
files and directories. In verbose mode, autojar now outputs a list of
archives that are included in the classpath but never used.

About: Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and
files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, CDs,
ZIPs, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, strong
encryption, proper saving and restoration of hard links and extended
attributes, remote backup using pipes and external command (such as ssh),
and rearrangement of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can now run
commands between slices, encrypt archives, and quickly retrieve individual
files from differential and full backups. Dar also has external GUI like
kdar for Linux, thanks to the well documented API.
Changes: A compilation problem that occurred when thread-safe support is
not available was fixed. Several warnings were disabled in some case where
they are not necessary. The documentation was updated. Several

About: FastTemplate is a PHP3 class for managing template files and

Perl module CGI::FastTemplate. Its primary use is to separate HTML and
