About: Deep is a content management system that serves HTML, preformatted
text, Deep shorthand content, or the output of a Lua script using simple

[023] - idioskopos 0.3.0
by Rick Vinyard (http://freshmeat.net/users/rvinyard/)
Sun, Nov 19th 2006 20:30
Software Development
About: idioskopos (Greek: idio- inward, within, private; -skopos look,
aim, target) is a C++ library that simplifies the addition of object
reflection and introspection to C++ classes. It provides classes for
implementing properties (internal storage), reference properties (a
property interface to an externally stored value under your control), and
virtual properties (a property interface created from get and set methods
you supply). The approach taken is intrusive. One advantage is that
special preprocessors are not necessary, either for your own code or for
those that use your code. A disadvantage of an intrusive approach is just
that; it's intrusive, meaning you must explicitly state what class members
are properties and instantiate them in your constructors.
Changes: This release features some major improvements to Idioskopos.
Serialization of introspectable properties has been improved, and support
for XML serializations has been added, along with the ability to register
Introspectable classes. With registration of classes, object hierarchies
can be dynamically created from an XML specification. Additionally, the
Introspectable/Property relationship has been modified, placing the names
in the Properties themselves, and signal support has been added. As with
any release, there are other small modifications and bugfixes.

About: Jujunie-integration integrates third party tools, applications, and

Planner2ICS, which generates on-the-fly ICalendar streams from Imendio
Planner files (indicating milestones and Planner calendar events).
Changes: A new Bugzilla Report "Deadline" has been added: it generates an
ICalendar stream based on the deadline attribute of selected bugs. The
bugs with deadlines appear as events, and bugs without deadlines appear as

Software Development :: Libraries
System
About: libloop is a small, simple library for manipulating loopback block
devices (/dev/loop). It is mainly of use to live CD distribution creators,
and is used in the ibls distribution. It allows loopback devices to be set
and deleted and allows retrieving the filename associated with the loop
device.
Changes: This is the first beta release of libloop. It seems to work and
includes a demo application to show how do use it. Documentation is
avaliable in the ibls wiki.

Multimedia
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion
Multimedia :: Video
About: LiVES is a simple to use yet powerful video effects, editing,
conversion, and playback system aimed at the digital video artist and VJ.
It uses commonly available tools (Mplayer, ImageMagick, and GTK+), so it
should work on most Unix-like systems. It runs under Linux, BSD, Mac OS
X/Darwin, IRIX, and openMosix. It works with almost all types of video,
and is fully extendable through plugins and the included plugin builder
tool.
Changes: Compilation errors which occurred when compiling without jack
were fixed. Instead, a warning message is shown when compiling without
jack. Jack >= 1.0 is supported. Audio tracks and the context box can be
shown or hidden from the View menu. The multitrack menu option
"Edit|Ignore selection limits" when inserting audio was added. A crash in
interpolation of boolean parameters was fixed. Fixes were made for jack
audio pause and unpause. A crash which occurred if Preferences are opened
with no clip loaded was fixed. Compilation on OSX/Darwin was fixed.
Adjustment of audio block start/end points and velocity is allowed in the
multitrack window.

by luc (http://freshmeat.net/users/maisonobe/)
Sun, Nov 19th 2006 14:55
Scientific/Engineering
Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries
About: Mantissa is a collection of various mathematical algorithms in Java
aimed towards simulation. It features a small set of linear algebra
classes, a least squares estimator, some curve fitting classes, several
ordinary differential equation integrators (all supporting multiple
switching functions and dense output), vectors and rotations in a three
dimensional space, algebra-related classes like rational and double
polynomials, various orthogonal polynomials, some optimization algorithms
using direct search methods, and more.
Changes: An issue occurring when switching functions triggered derivatives
discontinuities was fixed. The integrators were not aware of the change and
may reuse derivatives computed before the switch, leading to stability
problems.

the Seamonkey user interface, collapse any toolbar, add and remove search
engines, have your font zoom size reloaded, use the new Search box
feature, and time your browser sessions. The extension revamps the browser
UI, making it easier and faster to use. The extension will save your GUI
preferences such as fullscreen mode, collapsed toolbars, font zoom size,
and reload them when the browser starts up.
Changes: A UI for custom message in Timer was added. A localization error
