[001] - AceUnit 0.1
  by Christian Hujer (http://freshmeat.net/users/christianhujer/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 13:52

Software Development :: Embedded Systems
Software Development :: Quality Assurance
Software Development :: Testing

About: AceUnit (Advanced C and Embedded Unit) is a comfortable C code unit
test framework. AceUnit is in the style of JUnit 4.x, and is easy, modular,
and flexible. AceUnit can be used in resource constraint environments such
as embedded software development.

Changes: This release is still alpha because it is incomplete and lacks
proper documentation. But it's already good enough to use and develop unit
tests with.

  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 08:08

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
Office/Business :: Groupware

About: AjaXplorer is an easy-to-install file explorer for remotely
managing files on a Web server. Its rich GUI makes it accessible to any
end-user. Its main features are common file actions (uploading,
downloading, moving, renaming, etc.), online file editing, image preview,
a bookmarks system, and more. It requires PHP to run and FTP access only
for installation.

Changes: Thumbnails of images are now displayed. A Mac Firefox problem was
fixed. Broken functionnality in v2.0 1809297 was fixed. The GUI no longer
breaks when resizing the window to a size that is too small. The bookmark
bar is no longer ruined by too many bookmarks.

About: BeanShell is an embeddable scripting language. In addition to
interpreting standard Java code, it extends Java into the scripting
domain in a natural way by adding loose types, method closures, commands,
and other obvious scripting language features. Scripted classes appear to
outside Java code and by introspection as ordinary classes but are fully
dynamic and may include arbitrary scripts in their bodies, methods, and
constructors.

Changes: Updated to JDK1.5. Assorted minor bugfixes. Improved exception
handling.

[017] - DBTree 0.8.2
  by Cameron Shelton (http://freshmeat.net/users/csshelton/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 00:05

Database
Database :: Front-Ends

About: DBTree is a cross-platform (both database and operating system)
general purpose database query tool. Some of the primary features of
DBTree are a tabbed interface which allows you multi-database connectivity
and multiple Workbooks per connection. A Workbook is the main query
interface and is optimized for productivity and ease of use. DBTree also
features automatic session saving and loading upon startup.

Changes: This release focuses on new features and a bug fix. New features
include the ability to stop actively running statements, configurable
displaying of table row counts in the left-hand database view, the
addition of the following workbook commands, "display table", "display
tables", "display indexes", and the addition of a table mouse-over tooltip
which displays a table's columns and index information. The previous
release introduced a bug which may have caused total lockup,
NullPointerExceptions during rendering, or the destruction of the session
cache. This bug was fixed.

[018] - Enhanced TightVNC Viewer 1.0.19
  by Karl Runge (http://freshmeat.net/users/runge/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 11:15

Desktop Environment :: Tools

About: The Enhanced TightVNC Viewer package is part of the x11vnc VNC
server project. It provides a native VNC viewer that takes advantage of
new features in x11vnc, e.g. cursor alpha blending and automatic SSL
tunnelling. Some features apply to any VNC server, e.g. automatic SSH
tunnelling. Another goal is to provide a package that conveniently bundles
everything needed for the user to have the enhanced viewer running quickly.
This includes pre-built binaries of the viewer and utility programs for
Windows and many Unix variants, and a GUI to configure and launch the
viewer. The short name for this project is "ssvnc", for SSL/SSH VNC
viewer.

Changes: Two new GUI modes are introduced: SSH-only (sshvnc) and
Terminal-Services (tsvnc). The SSH-only mode does not show any SSL related
options, and so is less distracting if you never plan on using SSL. The
Terminal-Services mode is also SSH-only, and it assumes that x11vnc 0.9.3
or later is available on the remote computer. With this assumption, it can
do a number of convenient things such as automatically find your desktop
session, create a desktop session if one is not found, set the session
type (KDE, GNOME, etc.), size, and color depth, enable remote CUPS
printing, VNC file transfer, etc.

  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 09:26

Scientific/Engineering :: Geographical
Security
System :: Monitoring

About: Kismet is an 802.11 layer 2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and
intrusion detection system. It will work with any wireless card which
supports raw monitoring (rfmon) mode, and can sniff 802.11b, 802.11a,
802.11g, and 802.11n traffic (device drivers permitting). It identifies
networks by passively collecting packets and detecting standard named
networks, detecting (and given time, decloaking) hidden networks, and
inferring the presence of non-beaconing networks via data traffic.

Changes: Darwin (Mac OS X) is now supported. Memory use by the server and
client was significantly reduced. Significant speed boosts were made in
the client. Multiple crash bugs were fixed. Linux mac80211 layer support

[043] - rr 1.3
  by vade79 (http://freshmeat.net/users/vade79/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 11:10

Utilities

About: rr is a basic command-line utility designed to retain/recall file
and directory paths. This is done by treating the filename itself as a
unique key to be referenced for future rr program calls. The purpose of
this is to assist the user in shorthand typing and/or not having to
remember arbitrary full paths. So, for example,
"/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf" can be referenced as "// httpd.conf" in daily
operations.

Changes: When passing a blank value to rr, it would incorrectly output the
first retained value in ~/.rr; this has been fixed. Overly-generous
short-hand/partial matching of retained values, which crippled some of
rr's functionality, has been fixed. Now rr strictly searches for the whole
filename/directory first, then uses the generous partial matching as a
fallback. Minor miscellaneous code clean-up, changes, and error output
standardization.

[047] - Stunnix VBScript and ASP Obfuscator and Encoder 3.3
  by Stunnix (http://freshmeat.net/users/stunnix/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 11:52

Internet
Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Compilers

About: Stunnix VBS-Obfus protects your VBScript code from potential
analysis, study, or reworking by unwanted parties. It's both an obfuscator
and encoder for the VBScript code. It converts the VBScript in raw .vbs
files, or in ASP or HTML pages into a highly obfuscated form, making it
extremely difficult to study, analyse, or reuse, while fully retaining
functionality of the original source code. It optionally adds expiration
and hostname checking. It has a lot of options to control all aspects of
code hiding, and has full support for all syntax constructs. It is
designed to be multi-module aware.

Changes: Now all markup inside an ASP file can be converted to calls of
response.write(), thus converting any ASP file into a single block of ASP
code without markup around it, with the ability to encode such a "huge"
block afterwards. A critical bug in the implementation of VBScript
encoding has been fixed. The GUI has been greatly polished, and is much
more intuitive.

[048] - Syllable 0.1 (Syllable Server)
  by Kaj de Vos (http://freshmeat.net/users/kajdevos/)
  Mon, Oct 8th 2007 14:02

About: The Syllable project creates a set of operating systems that
interact to deploy networks. Syllable Desktop is a complete desktop
operating system that is exceptionally powerful, fast, and easy to use. It
has its own kernel, filesystem, GUI, and applications. Syllable Desktop is
based on AtheOS, is largely POSIX.1 compliant, and uses many of the GNU
utilities. Syllable Server is a server operating system built to be
similar to Syllable Desktop, but on the Linux kernel.

Changes: This release provides a text mode Linux environment, but also
contains a preliminary graphical environment built on the framebuffer
device, with DirectFB and SDL on top. The installation procedure is short,
but is still manual. Included are tools such as a graphical Web browser, a
file manager, and an editor. One thing Syllable Server is designed for is
to function as a lightweight virtualisation platform for running other
operating systems (or multiple instances of itself). The QEmu
virtualisor/emulator is included, and the KQEmu Accelerator kernel module
is integrated into the system.

a joystick, spaceball, or magnetic tracker.

About: ZXID is a C library that implements the full SAML 2.0 stack and
aims to implement all popular federated ID management protocols such as
Liberty ID-FF 1.2, WS-Federation, WS- Trust, and ID Web Services such as
Liberty ID- WSF 1.1 and 2.0. It is based on schema based code generation,
resulting in an accurate implementation. SWIG is used to offer scripting
language interfaces such as Perl, PHP, and Python, as well as Java. It
can act as SP, IdP, WSC, and WSP.

Changes: There is a bugfix in the Content-type header. A SWIG related
build problem for Net::SAML on Red Hat has been fixed.
InclusiveNamespaces/@PrefixList has been fixed, which should fix many
signature validation failures. A Cygwin target has been added.
