Danger, Will Robinson! Danger!

I recently upgraded my laptop to FC4 before I realized that my usual
repositories (freshrpms, dag, dries) aren't really ready for FC4 yet.
So now I'm stuck in limbo with a road trip coming up this weekend, a
library of mp3's, and no way to play them on my laptop. What's a guy
to do? I could always install mp3 support from the livna repository,
but then I read this:

and it makes me wonder what sort of problems I can expect in the
future if I go that route. Does anyone know what sort of issues I can
expect. If I end up waiting, can anyone tell me when mp3 support will
be added to any of the rpmforge repsoitories?
