Somewhere in your dir tree (maybe /usr/java/j2sdk.....) there must be a file named libjavaplugin_oji.so, that's the plugin. You need to do a symlink to that file from the firefox plugin directory (/lib/firefox-1.0.4/plugin in my case, it could be different from you) ln -s /usr/java/......../libjavaplugin_oji.so Once you've made the symlink you'll have to close every firefox windows and reopen one to test it. Now this instructions are provided by the package itself in some README file some where. There is a nice command named "locate" (you will need to run "updatedb" first as root) and another named "find" that combined with grep are very powerfull to search for files... Just RTFM... ;) --- Jon Roland <[email protected]> escribió: > Lamar Owen wrote: > > ... made a symlink in my .mozilla to the JRE > > shipped with the Sun JDK, and I was on my way. > Worked (and works) great. > > Please provide the exact steps you took, and all of > them.
