Hmmm. I am _almost_ sure that the ffmpeg I have lying around here
(ffmpeg-0.4.9-0.20050427.1.1.fc3 from freshrpms) can decode 3gp
just fine. Have not tried encoding, and I sure do not have any
funny plugins installed.

Grab the src.rpm and rebuild it on your machine and see what gives.
