-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Are any of the RPM packagers interesting in packaging xmms-timidity? What this plugin does is to give xmms the ability to play midi files. Also, if you add the - --enable-xmms option to mplayer when configuring it, you can also get mplayer to play midi files. Several XMMS plugins are already in extras, so this would just be another nice one to have. So here is what I did. I added --enable-xmms to my mplayer configure command line and recompiled mplayer and installed it. Then since Fedora Core does not have an xmms midi plugin I downloaded and created rpms of libtimidity and xmms-timidity that I got from here http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=124847 It was quite easy to create the rpms as libtimidity and xmms-timidity include spec files in the tar so it was just a simple rpmbuild -ta tarfile and I had the packages. Although you have to install libtimidity and libtimidity-devel prior to building xmms-timidity. After I installed the rpms I was then able to play midi files in mplayer Kevin - -- Get my public GnuPG key from http://keyserver.veridis.com:11371/export?id=7574690260641978351 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFDvrYdaR60qN0tF+8RAqHwAJ9SDHFRYgXqzQE6lYy+77+VJzBDpgCaAhrm CWls4Pkcso3Dc0euQC8mAPU= =GtUN -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
