Hi there, A few days around Christmas with no Internet connection, a test computer on which I could do real complete reinstalls and... you get the "Freshrpms package compilation"! What it is : It's an "Extra" CD to install freshrpms packages on a newly installed Fedora Core system. See the included README and browse around the content of the CD for more information. Basically, the idea was to make the freshrpms Multimedia stuff installable is a really simple manner and without even needing and Internet connection. Current limitations and known problems (revision 0.0) : - Only i386 for now (don't want to waste time with other archs until the work on general stuff is done). - Only FC4 for now (same reason). - Does not work from firstboot right after install, but does work from nautilus and from firstboot if run later on (bug in FC4/firstboot!?). - Packages from the last few days aren't included. It's also worth noting that some packages from Extras had to be included (as dependencies), others were on purpose, some from Core were also needed, and some updates (most notably libstdc++) too. Link to the current file : http://ftp.es6.freshrpms.net/tmp/freshrpms/ Please report any bugs. General feedback is very welcome too :-) Matthias PS: I wanted to do this for a long time already! Finally! -- Clean custom Red Hat Linux rpm packages : http://freshrpms.net/ Fedora Core release 4 (Stentz) - Linux kernel 2.6.14-1.1656_FC4 Load : 4.03 2.57 1.23
