FWIW, I used the livna.org ipw2100 firmware with my Dell 600m, and didn't need 
any other packages.  Everything else just worked.  The ipw2200 isn't too 
different, but I do seem to remember some items passing the ipw2100 
Sourceforge list (the ipw2200 stuff comes down the ipw2100 list....). The
