It's hard to upgrade from a repo-centric apt package to a repo-agnostic 
apt rpm package without requiring user actions. That said, I've been 
providing repo-agnostic packages but haven't enabled repomd support as 
there might be still problems with them. Eg. only yesterday apt remove got 
multilib support :)

However the main update/upgrade functionality works fine and I haven't had 
any problems since rc1.

Also, if you're using synaptic. I'm now building patched synaptic packages 
that include the repomd support with this new apt. However, currently 
synaptic will not be able to edit/manage the repomd repositories from 
within synaptic. That will be fixed soon as well.

Please provide as much feedback as you can to the new apt-rpm mailinglist 
so we can phase out apt support for the older distributions that support 
this new apt.
