From what I understood, mpeg4ip was more or less dead, faad decided to include a snapshot of it, then faad snapshots newer than the latest release started being API incompatible... which is why at one point I reverted to faad 2.0 + patches instead of anything newer. Now if anyone involved in this whole aac/mp4 thing could tell me once and for all "use this and that and everything will work", I'd be really grateful...
