If not, then ATrpms > is violating the firmware license. IANAL, so I definitely don't understand the exact legal implications of most of the content of the agreement, but : "Your rights to redistribute the Software shall be contingent upon your installation of this Agreement in its entirety in the same directory as the Software." I redistribute the software on freshrpms.net, with the agreement in the same rpm package. As I understand it, this complies with the redistribution terms. Of course, the end user needs to also comply with them, but that's not mandatory to _download_ the software (obviously, since the download also includes the terms they can't have read yet), only to _use_ the software. Note that I also include this in the package description : Usage of the firmware is subject to the terms contained in : /usr/share/doc/ipw2200-firmware-3.0/LICENSE. Please read it carefully. (as seen on http://bordeaux.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=1330) I repeat, IANAL, so this is just my interpretation of the terms as an "Independent Software Vendor", so I could be completely wrong. But as for all my packages, if I'm ever asked by the original vendor to cease redistribution, I definitely will.
