I just recently upgraded to Fedora Core 6. I have the mplayer binaries from freshrpms that were compiled for FC6 (yum automatically gets them). The problem is that MP3 (MPEG 1.0 layer III) doesn't seem to work right any more. I get sound, but it has all this garbage overlaying it. It doesn't matter if it is an MP3 file (audio only) or an MPEG video that include layer III audio. Playing AAC files works fine. Is the codec for MP3 audio included in mplayer, or is it a separate library? I also have mpg321 that also came from freshrpms and it works fine. -- Russell McOrmond, Internet Consultant: <http://www.flora.ca/> Please help us tell the Canadian Parliament to protect our property rights as owners of Information Technology.
