If I try to mix freshrpms and livna repos on F7 I get irritating conflicts that involve libdts and the like. I'm not the only one. For example, here's a very similar issue: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?t=563670 If I disable freshrpms altogether, I manage to install vlc and mplayer and such, but that's just ignoring the problem. Another problem, and I don't know whether the root cause is the same, but perhaps it is, is that gstreamer doesn't play some AAC/MP4 files for me that it should be able to play. (Xine plays them OK.) Is there something fishy with ffmpeg, faad2 and friends? I don't really understand all those interdependencies, I just want my tunes to rock. :)
