As previously mentioned I chose to do it under Windows on purpose - just because I use and run Linux doesn't mean I shun other OSes out of hand. I wanted to see what Intervideo WinDVD thought about the situation, as I am familiar with it in use on Dell laptops (for work). John pointed to regionset in the previous reply which I chose to read, understand but not actually use at this time. > Any details? Please provide at the very least the output of > > mplayer -v dvd://1 > > (substitute the correct title number for 1) I felt it unimportant for this list, not being mplayer related - I posted here first because the packages came from FreshRPMs and I was unsure where the problem was situated logistically. As I found out thanks to a member, my problems were/are in no way FreshRPMs related - I wasn't asking for mplayer help, that comment was a PS on the end of the email. I found several random forum threads during my search that indicates mplayer uses an internal libdvdcss that differs in issues from the external libdvdcss linked into apps like Xine. If I choose to do so, I'll chase the problem down and post on the appropriate list(s). -te -- Troy Engel | Systems Engineer Fluid Inc. | http://www.fluid.com
