qt version conflict?

IN the normal course of installing packages I, and the installers 
gpk-application and synaptic, find a conflict for two installed versions 
of qt:

qt-1:4.3.4-14.fc9
qt-1:4.3.3-1.fc9

and when I try to remove the apparent earlier one, I get a huge list of 
other packages to be removed. What is happening here? What is the solution?
