Thanks. X works with the tga driver, but only in 8 bit mode (but that's not a problem). I also saw that many Gentoo packages are not *supported* for Alpha, but they build. Is there some place where I can tell when I manage to compile a package and test it ? Maybe in this list ? Yes it is. Has been for quite a while. At least it is in other distros like Red Hat and Debian and the support was submitted back to the Xfree maintainers (thanks to Jay Estabrook). > Can I change the graphic board with *ANY* pci card ? Or do I have to search for a > Alpha-specific card ? Matrox Millenium[II], Permedia 2 based boards and ATI Radeon 7500 all work well and are supported as well.
