Emerge Xfree86 with apm Module?

I have AS 200 with Alliance ProLogic AT3D video card. Seems it is
supported by XFree86 4.0 with the apm module. Unfortunately "emerge
xfree" compiles X *without* this module. Why? And how can I tell
emerge/ebuild to compile the apm module?
