genkernel 3.3.6 ~ on alpha

I've been having genkernel build errors with genkernel versions greater than 
3.1.6.
The builds have been failing on the busybox phase of genkernel.

Kernel, modules all build clean, but the new stuff for busybox fail.

As a result I am unable to build an initramfs.
