There DOES NOT NEED to be a news item. Experimenting with "what if
coreutils but written in rust" is a hobby/niche project, not something
every single user needs to be informed about. app-alternatives if you
must with a wiki page, like any other toy/alternative project. A news
item will prompt a greater than zero number of users to start doing
things and in turn increase support burden on forums/bug
tracker/#gentoo irc.
