Team,

It's election season again already.
The current council hold their last meeting on 14-Jun-26. By tradition,
we open nominations about one week before the meeting.

I propose that nominations for both Council and Trustees open at the
start of Sunday, 07-June-26 and run for two weeks.
That means nominations close at the end of Saturday, 20-June-26.

We need a day or so to put the finishing touches to the elections.

Proposed voting would be from the start of Monday 22-Jun-26 for a
period of two weeks, so voting would close at the end of Sunday,
05-Jul-26.

As every year, the elections project needs some volunteers as
officials. Officials cannot be candidates in the election they help
with.

We need an -infra contact and a total of three (or more) other non
candidates to count the votes and answer questions from the electorate
from the time nominations open to the time the results are published.

I will be one. I will not be standing as a candidate in either
election.

Unless there are objections to the timing, or I've got the dates wrong,
the proposed dates are expected to stand..

The trustees need to set a record date before nominations open and
update the members list. Its the members on record at the record date
that is the definitive list of participants in the trustee election.

Any foundation non members that would like to take part this year need
to apply for Foundation membership now, or even sooner.

To learn more or volunteer as an election official, ping me in #gentoo-
elections

No further election communications will be sent to the gentoo-project
list as it is/will be closed.
