по начальному смыслу - это сборка самого себя на базе уже собранного.
(маленькая программа подтягивает среднюю, средняя - большую и т.д.)

наверное, здесь будет 
"пересоберем",
"перекомпилируем"/"заново скомпилируем",
"сделаем так, чтобы Gentoo скомпилировала сама себя",
"запустим самокомпиляцию"
и т.д.
