Unless you hang out in the IRC channel for this project, you probably don't have
much of an idea about what has been going on. I'm going to try to rectify that.
We have been making a lot of progress lately and are close to a testing release.

There are two installer frontends in the works: one dialog based and the other
GTK based. Screenshots of both can be found at
<http://dev.gentoo.org/~agaffney/gli/>. Keep in mind that both of these
frontends are works in progress and are subject to major change.

The installer backend is almost complete (ready for testing, not necessarily
done). We have done a few successful tests with it (a complete install from
beginning to end) and come out with a working system after a reboot.

The partitioning code still needs some (a lot) work, but it currently "works".
It initially had filesystem resize support, but that has been removed for now
because of "issues" we had with it. The partitioning code is currently getting
an overhaul and resize support will likely be added back in before the first
release.

If you would like to take a look at the code, CVS snapshots are available at
<http://dev.gentoo.org/~agaffney/gli/snapshots/>.
