Just a thought on this one, gentoo is supriseingly useful for a mass machine rollout, you set one up. compiled and tweaked and tuned as you need. then your tar it up, build a handly little modified livecd iso then just partition untar set bootloader and run a script to change your settings. bingo. rollout done. now with masses of differing hardware the installer built here with hardware detection tools and the like would be of massive importance. also to be honest gentoo is a great distro for corporate use, but there comes a tradeoff, just as everything else in corporate existance.
