Hey guys, Right now I'm in the middle of making the Packages Screen, and I've had a bunch of different opinions from people in the channel about where to take it. I'd like to get your opinions as well. At the top of your reply to the list, please put your answer to the 2 questions I've asked at the end of this message. Here are the options ( Screenshots at http://laliberte.cc/gentoo/comparison.htm ) 1) Make the screen nice and pretty This would make the developers seperate packages in portage into different "categories", like Desktops, Editors, Games. Possibly having subcategories like KDE, Gnome etc. ( First and Second screenshots ) 2) Make the screen like timezones This would have every package in the tree available to click and choose. The base look would look like if you do ls /usr/portage, and then you would be able to "check" off packages in individual categories. ( Third screenshot ) What I want from you guys: 1) If you had to choose choice 1 or 2, which one would you pick? 2) If you had to do the screen yourself, what would you do? Thanks! John ( AllanonJL )
