Java application Ebuild

Hello everybody,

I wanna start developing an ebuild for an application called  
Geoserver ( http://geoserver.org/ ) and need some indications.
I did ebuild for non java application, but really don't know how  
handle this one.

For example got 2 things to understand:

1- Which version should i use to install the package from http:// 
docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOS/Latest ?

2- This application uses a Web Server and a Java container..is it ok  
to set Tomcat as a dependencies?

I am reading the java guide linked in irc channel's topic..
