That's what we really need; Pascal's suggestion of using a script to
populate the .classpath file is a neat workaround, but really what would
make more sense is something that provided our packages (jars & sources,
etc) fully configured and available as User Libraries or whatever.

I cc'd Remy Suen; he's an Eclipse hacker who runs Gentoo. Maybe he can
help.

P.S. A Java based solution for this would also go a long way towards
providing the infrastructure that would be needed by a maven plugin that
would allow us to use libraries already on the system (as opposed to
bringing in arbitrary binaries from untrusted sources) which has been
another pain point for quite some time now.
