Gnome terminal for new user

Hi,

I just added a new user with gnome 2 as default desktop, all seems OK except 
the gnome terminal. When I start it, it opens initially, flashes a command 
not found message, then dies. Xterms work, but I like the tabbed terminals - 
any ideas?
