Hi, I'm installing 1.4 fresh on my Sony Vaio (PGC-FX270) w/ a stage1 install. I've downloaded the live cd ISO, burned it onto a CD and booted from it. I got the network up, and my disk partitioned and filesystems created. I mounted all my filesystems. It's time to unpack the stage1 tarball. When I unpack the tarball, it hums right along, hundreds of files fly by, then it comes to './bin/pgawk', and it hangs. If I try '-t' instead of '-x' on the tar command, it hangs in the same place. Any clues, anyone? Thanks, -Mark -- -- Mark J. Bobak Oracle DBA [email protected] "It is not enough to have a good mind. The main thing is to use it well." -- Rene Descartes
