Worked like a charm! It totalled about 5 GB, IIRC. Slight snag is that some packages needed come from other places (the Sun Java stuff, for example). Gradually I ended up with everything needed for a full install. Updating rsync after the build is a no-no as well, as you will then need new versions of things. Most of the time I have to use some windows system and a list of all urls would ease the process of downloading the files a lot.
