RE: Low bandwidth/limited time onlineinstallation?

It seems that many many people are having the same problem.  I hate to suggest 
it but maybe there might be some worth in writing a version of emerge that 
will run on other distros or OS's like window$ - just for the ability to 
emerge the distfiles to a drive or CDR and bring them home for installation 
on gentoo.

Maybe emerge could be moded to produce a formatted list of packages which 
could be saved and then run a properly designed perl script on the list to 
FTP the files to a location of your choice.  This would really help the many 
of us who can download at work but not at home.

Just a thought.  Any takers for adding the functionality to emerge?
