Did installing XP reshuffle your partion naming? Can you give the exact error messages of grub? You could create a standalone Grub boot diskette, with which you can pretty much boot any system, as long as you know the partition layout. Then try to boot Gentoo from there. After I reinstalled GRUB (I'm used to having to reinstall LILO with Mandrake), it still wouldn't boot - it went into some sort of panic, pretty much not being able to find ANYTHING where it should be. Maybe this was just a fluke? Thanks Brian
