Gentoo has the rpm package available, you can emerge it if necessary, then follow the usual procedure. You need to be careful though because the directory layout of the files in the package might not fit in with Gentoo's infrastructure. I think Debian packages are a no go. Really, the best solution is to create an ebuild for the package yourself and submit it to bugs.gentoo.org so that the maintainers will (hopefully) add it to the official tree. If you mention what the package is, maybe someone else will agree that it is important and will be compelled to do so! --kerframil
