Howdy all, I recently installed the 1.4_rc1 cd after having what I thought were disk corruption problems on my old 1.3 install. Well, now I'm having the exact same problems. When I boot into Gentoo, everything is fine until it starts to go through the boot scripts and I get this: * Remounting root filesystem read-only(if necessary).. [!!] * checking root filesystem... fsck 1.27(8-Mar-2002) fsck.ext2: Is a directory while trying to open / /: The superblock could not be read or does ..... .......... * Filesystem repaired [!!] * Remounting root file system read/write.. * Root filesystem could not be mounted R/W: [!!] Give root password for maintenance (or type Control-D for normal startup): Now my root partition is Reiser, so I don't understand why it's using fsck or why it's apparently trying to mount it as an ext2 filesystem. Everything was running normally prior to this. I shutdown, reboot and BAM!, nothing works. Twice this happens and I'm *annoyed*. Searching the forums didn't help me much. Is there a searchable mailing list archive? Thanks, Elam
