Multiple sources [was Re: emerge mirror]

And, as a side to this, is there any work being done to allow emerge/ebuild
to search multiple sources for a given source tarball?  I am referring to
the ability that the FreeBSD ports system has where it tries one location
and if it can't find the file, it trys another, and another until it either
succeeds or runs out of sources to try.
