Hello,

I would like to try the gentoo linux distro.

I've first try to start with the gentoo-xi86-1.2.iso and tried
to install it
into a thinkpad 600. I've no problem until tryig to reboot
it ... But it's
just a problem of my kernel I think. But, I also want to
install it on
my firewall and want to know if you plan to add 'adsl-setup' or
any
other help program (as dhcp-setup) for configuring a machine
behind
an ADSL modem ? Or any help section in the installation guide
on how
to get configuration from my ISP (as I need to enter user name,
passwd
etc) ?

Second, I would also like to install 1.4 instead of 1.2 but I
do not understand
at all what is your 'livecd' ? Where is the installation guide
for installing gentoo
with the rc1.4 livebasic cd ? I could not find /install* files
as in the rc1.2 bootable
cd ? Must I install rc1.2 first and then try to upgrade to
rc1.4 ? or is there a way
to install directly rc1.4 ?

Thank you very much
